On Saturday, March 6, First CAT volunteer weathered rain and mud to clear out invasive plants and vines from a section of Waimea Valley. This entailed using all variety of tools and brute strength to hack and pull off large, heavy, tree-choking vines. Our volunteers spent their last hour planting native plants along the park’s entrance. Using the soreness of our muscles and feedback from our Waimea Valley hosts as measures, we made a big difference!
Mahalo to our FICOH associates and their family members for dedicating their Saturday to beautifying and preserving this sacred place.
