Malama Our Kupuna Campaign
First Insurance Company of Hawaii (FICOH) is inviting the community to join its #MalamaOurKupuna social media campaign to raise $20,000 for Hawaii Meals on Wheels (HMOW) by September 20, 2018. Our kupuna have fed us, loved us and supported us. It only takes a moment to return the gift and ensure more of our seniors can benefit from the hot meals and social check-ins provided by HMOW.
What Is It?
#MalamaOurKupuna is a social media fundraising campaign being held now through September 20, 2018 to benefit Hawaii Meals on Wheels. First Insurance will donate $10 toward a hot lunch for an Oahu senior every time someone participates in the campaign. With a simple social media post, community members can help First Insurance reach its goal of raising enough funds to sponsor 1,250 meals for seniors on Oahu.

A Long-Term Commitment
For nearly 40 years, Hawaii Meals on Wheels has been serving as a source of nutrition, comfort and safety for seniors and homebound Oahu residents. Last year, the nonprofit delivered a record 105,731 meals. Approximately 800 of those meals were delivered by First Insurance of Hawaii’s employees who have been volunteering their lunch breaks to deliver meals every Thursday and Friday – including holidays – for the past 10-plus years.
