HONOLULU – Continuing its annual tradition of community support, First Insurance Company of Hawaii (FICOH) and its associates raised $22,500 in donations for Aloha United Way (AUW) through special events and e-Pledges. The First Insurance Foundation provided a $22,500 matching contribution, for a total donation of $45,000 to AUW.

Through a combination of virtual Blackjack and Bingo games, along with several food sales including hot dogs, Cookie Corner treats, Paradise Kettle Corn and Zippy’s fundraiser tickets, associates raised more than $8,500 through special events plus an additional $13,932 in e-Pledges.

“We’re proud to continue our support of AUW, their partner agencies and their collective efforts to make Hawaii a better place to live,” said Todd Takayama, FICOH president. “Our sustained support over three decades is strengthened by the creative and impactful efforts of our associates who continue to give back to our community through personal donations, volunteerism and teamwork.”

“First Insurance has consistently supported Aloha United Way for more than 30 years, with contributions totaling more than $1.6 million dollars over that time,” said Jenna Richards, AUW business development manager. “Every dollar donated makes a difference in the lives of families who have struggled to make ends meet following the pandemic. Our dedication to local communities has not waivered as a result of companies like First Insurance that continue to help us change lives and improve future outcomes.”
