HONOLULU – Continuing their annual tradition of supporting Aloha United Way (AUW), First Insurance Company of Hawaii (FICOH) associates donated $23,536 to AUW through e-pledges and unique fundraising events. The First Insurance Foundation made an additional contribution of $16,464 for a grand total donation to AUW of $40,000.

FICOH associates kicked off their AUW fundraising campaign in August 2024 with an international food fest and bake sale that raised more than $2,600 and wrapped up the campaign with their first-ever “Splash Down” event. Twelve associates embraced the spirit of giving outside FICOH’s headquarters in Honolulu as their colleagues unleashed a barrage of water balloons and icy water buckets in a bid to soak their friends while supporting a great cause. The Splash Down event raised more than $1,800 for AUW.

“We’re proud of our longstanding support of Aloha United Way and their partner agencies,” said Todd Takayama, FICOH president and CEO. “Year after year, our associates develop creative fundraising campaigns that energize our employees to support the great work AUW does in our community. 2024 was no different.”

“For more than 30 years First Insurance has consistently supported Aloha United Way with contributions totaling more than $1.65 million during this time period,” said Stephanie Wright, AUW business development manager. “The support of FICOH as an essential partner to our community, has supported AUW’s mission to connect individuals with the resources they need and build a healthier, stronger Hawaii.”
