The ANFI™ designation is awarded after a candidate successfully passes a series of three exams developed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that measure the applicant’s technical and practical knowledge of national flood insurance basics, specialized rating and insurance ethics.

As an NFIP Write Your Own (WYO) carrier, First Insurance is authorized to write and service national flood insurance policies in Hawaii, Guam, & American Samoa. Since Brum joined FICOH in 2011, the company’s National Flood Insurance market share in Hawaii has grown steadily from 35 percent to 44 percent.

“The only factors differentiating one WYO carrier from another are service and expertise,” said Jeff Shonka, First Insurance CEO. “Wes’ dedication to excellent service and continuous learning has contributed to FICOH’s reputation as the best and largest writer of federal flood insurance in the state.”“It is a true honor to have passed the rigorous examination process and be the only insurance associate to obtain the ANFI designation in Hawaii,” said Wesley Brum, Sr. Flood Underwriter.

“I hope to continue to be an expert resource on national flood insurance and to aid others in understanding the various elements of their flood insurance policies.”For more information on flood insurance, please visit www.ficoh.com.
